UPBEAT! is an inspiring music education program by the Kawartha Youth Orchestra, dedicated to creating opportunities for young people who face financial or social barriers. Open to children ages 8 to 12, UPBEAT! offers an engaging, supportive after-school environment where students can learn music fundamentals, gain confidence, and foster friendships. Running from September to June in Peterborough, this subsidized program ensures that all children have the chance to explore their musical potential and enjoy the many benefits of creative expression. UPBEAT! is more than a music program—it’s a pathway to growth, community, and self-discovery.
“The KYO embraced my son with open arms and through its commitment to his development was able to further drive not only advancement in music but also confidence and life skills.”

“Wow, where do I start? I was asked to write a two-line testimonial in support of Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO). That is impossible. To summarize how Incredible KYO is and the dedicated volunteers into two lines can’t be done”
