About Upbeat!
UPBEAT! Downtown is an after school music program for children living in Peterborough who are interested in music and face barriers accessing music education.
UPBEAT! empowers children through a fun ensemble based program led by dedicated professional music educators. Children work together to learn and perform music while developing a sense of self-worth and critical life skills like problem solving, empathy and self-control.

- Fully subsidized after-school program for children 7-14 years
Ensemble music learning (instrumental and choral) - Healthy food, instruments and transportation from school included

Upbeat! operates as a program of Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO), a nonprofit, charitable organization which has been providing outstanding musical experiences for local children and youth since 2002.
Upbeat! offers universal access to transformative music learning for all interested local children ages 6-18 years whose socio-economic circumstances would otherwise limit involvement opportunity.
